Couple Photoshoot from the Pantheon to the Colosseum
A two-hour walk through ancient Rome on a clear March morning: coffee on Piazza della Rotonda, the colonnade on the Capitoline Hill, the arches of the Forum and the Colosseum at the end.

The route
We met at the Pantheon at 8:15, before the piazza filled, and started at the fountain with the portico behind. Coffee at a café on Piazza della Rotonda came next, and then the walk up to the Capitoline Hill.
The colonnade there throws long stripes of light across the floor in the morning, and from the edge of the hill you look straight down on the Arch of Septimius Severus and the Forum. We finished with the Colosseum just after ten, seen from the terrace above the road.

Why this order works
The Pantheon is at its best early, before the tour groups. The Capitoline colonnade needs low sun for its light, and the Colosseum can take the busier late morning because we shoot it from above.
Two hours means no rushing: a coffee in the middle, and time for the quieter frames between the famous ones.
