A real Rome elopement
Their wedding in Rome: Trevi, the Colosseum, Sant’Angelo and the Pantheon

The Trevi Fountain
The first frames by the water, with the basin almost to themselves.

The Colosseum
An empty road, the arches behind, and the dress in the morning breeze.

Ponte Sant’Angelo
Bernini’s angels on one side, the castle straight ahead.

The Pantheon
The fountain and the portico to finish, before the piazza fills.
Five of Rome’s most famous places in one session, and none of them crowded. See the whole wedding.

Questions
Eloping in Rome: questions
Can foreigners get legally married in Rome?
Yes, a civil wedding in Rome is legally valid, but foreign couples need documents from their own country, including a nulla osta from their embassy, and some steps have to be done in person in Italy before the date. Many couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Rome, which needs no paperwork at all.
Where can we have the ceremony?
Civil weddings take place in the city’s official halls, the best known being the Sala Rossa on the Capitoline Hill. A symbolic ceremony can happen almost anywhere quiet: a garden, a terrace or a viewpoint at sunrise. The famous squares work best for portraits after the vows.
What time do we start?
Early. Trevi and the Colosseum are nearly empty until about 8am. On our 13 May route we were at the Trevi Fountain at 7:13 and finished at the Pantheon just after 9. Check the sunrise and sunset times for your month.
How much does elopement photography in Rome cost?
Every elopement is quoted individually, depending on the hours, the places and whether there is a ceremony. Write to us with your date and plan and we’ll send you the packages.
Can family or friends come?
Of course. Parents, children or a few close friends are welcome, and we plan a route everyone can walk.
What should we wear?
Whatever you would marry in. Silk and light fabrics move beautifully on camera. Bring comfortable shoes for the walk between places and change into heels for the photos.
Can you arrange flowers?
Yes, we can have a fresh bouquet waiting at the first spot. Tell us when you plan the day.
Do you photograph small weddings too?
Yes. Small weddings with guests, a dinner or a civil ceremony, as well as elopements for two.
